You can see an Outlook's setup on your own TradingView chart. TradingView is a popular chart website and app. It is not part of ClawBack, so you need your own TradingView account. A free account is enough.

It works in three steps:

  1. Add our free indicator to your TradingView chart. You do this only once.
  2. On an Outlook, click Copy for TradingView.
  3. Paste what you copied into the indicator. The setup appears on your chart.

The drawing shows the Outlook's prices. It is not advice to buy or sell. Read our Risk Disclaimer.

Add the indicator once

An indicator is a tool that draws on a TradingView chart. Ours is called CBc Outlook Setup. It is free.

  1. Open TradingView and open any chart.
  2. Click Indicators at the top of the chart.
  3. Type CBc Outlook Setup in the search box.
  4. Click CBc Outlook Setup in the list. It is added to your chart.
  5. Save your chart layout in TradingView, so the indicator is there next time.

You can also open the indicator's page from an Outlook. Click the line Paste into the CBc Outlook Setup indicator, under the Copy for TradingView button.

Copy a setup

  1. Open the DOJO and click an Outlook.
  2. Click Copy for TradingView. The button says Copied for a moment.

You copied a short line of letters and numbers. We call it a setup code. It looks like this: CB1|L|230.5|228.9|232.1,233.8. It holds the Outlook's prices: the entry, the stop and the targets.

  • In the Outlooks list, the small copy button at the end of a row does the same.
  • You see the button only on Outlooks you can read in full. It goes away when the Outlook ends: after its Valid until time, or once it has a result.
  • If copying doesn't work (it can happen on a phone), you see Copying didn't work — select the code and copy it. Select the code shown next to the button and copy it yourself.

Paste it into the indicator

  1. In TradingView, open the same market as the Outlook. For an Outlook called NASDAQ:AAPL · 15, open Apple shares (AAPL). Any timeframe works.
  2. At the top left of the chart, point at CBc Setup. Click the gear icon (Settings).
  3. Click in the Setup code box. Delete any old code. Paste the new code: press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘+V (Mac).
  4. Click OK.

The setup appears on the chart.

What you see on the chart

  • Entry — an indigo (blue-purple) line. This is where the idea starts. When the Outlook gives a price range, called the entry zone, you see an indigo box.
  • Stop — a red dashed line. If the price gets here, the idea is wrong.
  • Targets — green dashed lines. TP1 is the nearest target, then TP2, and so on.
  • Shaded boxes — green from the entry to the last target: the possible gain. Red from the entry to the stop: the possible loss.
  • Price tags — on the right of each line, with its price. The entry tag also shows R:R. It compares the possible gain with the possible loss. R:R 3.4 means the gain to the last target is 3.4 times the loss to the stop.

The lines reach to the right edge of the chart. They stay at the same prices when you zoom or scroll.

Two-way Outlooks

A two-way Outlook has two ideas: a buy and a sell. The indicator draws both. Each tag starts with Buy or Sell. Only the idea whose entry is reached first counts. See Two-way Outlooks.

It doesn't update itself

The drawing stays as you pasted it. TradingView can't ask us for news, so the drawing doesn't change when the Outlook changes, and it doesn't know when the Outlook ends.

  • When a new Outlook comes out for that market, copy its code and paste it again. The new code replaces the old drawing.
  • Check Valid until on the Outlook. After that time, the setup is old. Remove it from your chart.
  • To remove the drawing, delete the code in Setup code. Or remove the indicator from your chart.

If something is wrong

When the indicator can't draw, it shows a box in the top right corner of the chart. The messages are in English:

  • Paste a setup code in this indicator's settings. — The Setup code box is empty. Copy a code from an Outlook and paste it.
  • This is not a setup code. — Something else was pasted. Copy it again with Copy for TradingView.
  • This setup code is damaged: … — A part is missing or was changed. Copy it again. Don't type or change the code by hand.
  • These prices are far from this chart's price. — The chart shows another market. Open the Outlook's market, for example AAPL for NASDAQ:AAPL.
  • This setup code is newer than this indicator. — Remove the indicator from your chart. Then add it again, as in Add the indicator once.

You see no drawing and no box? Check that the indicator is on the chart and not hidden: point at CBc Setup and click the eye icon. Still stuck? See Troubleshooting and questions.
