New to the DOJO? This page walks you through your first days: how the free trial works, how to choose your language, where to see how Outlooks turned out, and where everything lives.

Outlooks are for learning. They are not advice to buy or sell. Please don't copy trades blindly. Read our Risk Disclaimer.

Day one: open the DOJO

  1. Sign in. You land on GENKAN, your home page. Need an account first? See Getting started.
  2. On the Outlooks tile, click Open outlooks. Or click Outlooks in the menu on the left.
  3. The first time after you sign in, a note appears: Before you read an outlook. Read it, then click I understand.

No plan yet? You can still see every Outlook's headline and bias. To read them in full, start a free trial. The next section shows how.

Your free trial

Many plans start with a free trial. You try the plan first. You pay only if you keep it.

To start it:

  1. Open Billing in GENKAN.
  2. On the plan you want, click the trial button. It tells you how long the trial is. For example: Start 3-business-day trial.
  3. Type your card details on the secure payment page. Nothing is charged that day.

The same button is on the GENKAN Outlooks tile, in the Outlooks list and on a locked Outlook. It opens Billing. No trial on offer for you? Then the button says See plans.

What it includes: everything the plan's card lists in Billing. For example, full Outlooks for the markets of that plan.

Business days: the trial counts business days, Monday to Friday. Weekends don't count. The length is on the button, and it can be different for each plan.

Seven day squares, Thursday to Wednesday. The first is outlined, Saturday and Sunday are striped, Friday, Monday and Tuesday are filled and hold one, two and three dots. A line runs under them from Thursday to Tuesday, dotted over the weekend, and ends at a card.Seven day squares, Thursday to Wednesday. An example: a trial of 3 business days, started on a Thursday. 1 — you start the trial. Nothing is charged. 2 — Saturday and Sunday don't count. 3 — on Tuesday, at the time of day you started, the trial ends and the first payment is taken. The dots count the business days: Friday, Monday and Tuesday.

While it runs: the Outlooks list shows Trial and the days left. The Outlooks tile in GENKAN shows it too.

When it ends: the plan starts and your card is charged. Then the plan renews every month, or every year, until you cancel. Billing shows the date of your first payment.

Don't want to keep it? Cancel before the trial ends. Then you pay nothing. See Cancel your plan.

You get one free trial for each service. More about trials: Free trial.

Choose your language

The apps — GENKAN, the DOJO, KAGAMI and the rest — speak many languages.

  1. Click the language button at the top right of the page. It shows the name of your language.
  2. Pick your language.

All the apps then use it, on the same browser. Outlooks are translated too. Right after an Outlook comes out, its translation may take a moment. See Outlooks in your language.

The ☾ / ☀ button next to it switches between dark and light.

Our public website, including this guide, has its own language button. It changes only the website and the guide. See Language and colours.

Results: the scoreboard

Results shows how every finished Outlook turned out — wins and misses alike. It is our scoreboard. You may also know it as Status: old links to Status open Results.

To open it:

  • click Results in the menu on the left, or
  • in GENKAN, click Open results on the Results tile.

At the top you see the hit rate. Of the trades that started, it is the share that reached a target. A trade that was Not filled never started, so it doesn't count.

Click Result › on a row to see what happened, step by step. Results are open to everyone who is signed in, with or without a plan.

How a result is decided: see How Results scores an Outlook.
